Her first solo exhibition, “Otherselfs” was organized in 2007 and displayed the normality and humanity of the lives of Downs Syndrome children and adults. This exhibition was presented at the Barış Manço Cultural Center and Caddebostan Cultural Center with the sponsorship of Kadıköy Şifa Health Institution.
This project shows the social life of people with down syndrome. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, these photographs reveal the deepest meaning behind the smiles and glances of those who have long been ignored.
Some of these people have succeeded in athletic pursuits and participated in the Special Olympics. The photographs follow sixteen persons aged five to thirty years old.
